TIMES JABAR, JAKARTA – The staffs of Indonesian Embassy for Australia in Canberra brought up Angklung at the local Multicultural Festival. The festival was held at Quenbeyan Park on Sunday (27/2/2022). This event was followed by all Queanbeyan Multicultural Community.

The staffs of the embassy presented a popular dangdut song called 'Terajana' with their angklung. The nice harmony of angklung stole the guests' attention and hyped up the event. The sound of angklung has become a music to their ear which gave a pleasant nice sound the never heard before.

The staffs of the embassy shook the angklung in accordance to perform this dangdut song. Some guests enjoyed the performance and even dance with them.  The groovy 'Terajana' has bring them a positive vibe to move their feet and jingle along the song.

"The Terajana and angklung has introduced Indonesian culture. From the dangdut song, the musical instruments, to the typical dangdut dance," the Attaché for Education and Culture of Indonesian Embassy in Canberra Mukhamad Najib said.

 There are around 1000 people attending this outdoor event. They took 'colour, movement, food, love and learning the many amazing cultures that make up our community' as the theme for this year.

"The festival is the first festival of its kind after being suspended for years during the pandemic. This makes the community which came from another country and now live in Australia make time and so enthusiatic for this festival," Najib added.

Beside the dangdut 'Terajana' angklung, some other performance was also presented to the attendants. Let's say the Samba dance of Brazil, Hellenic Dancers of Greek, Quake bellydance and Baila from Chile to name a few.

This event has become one awaited moment for the multicultural community in Australia to hang out and gather with all people from any race and country in Australia. They have used this multicultural festival to blend with others in peace without any racial profiling and suspicion (*)
