TIMES JABAR, JAKARTA – The State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) is hosting the XIVth Sports and Arts Week (Porseni) 2014. This multi-event event will take place on July 18-28 and will be attended by 58 polytechnics from various regions in Indonesia. 

Porseni is the culmination of the Polytechnic Student Program activities throughout Indonesia in the fields of sports and arts. This sports and arts event has been running since 1999 in Jember City with the host of Jember State Agricultural Polytechnic, and this year is the 14th time. 

Porseni XIV 2024 offers a variety of sports and arts. In the sports, students can compete such as athletics, basketball, volleyball, bridge, badminton, chess, e-sports, futsal, karate, kempo, rock climbing, pencak silat, taekwondo, and table tennis.

On the arts side, there are competitions in photography, calligraphy, caricature, monologue, poetry, solo song, stand-up comedy, and dance creations. Each branch of the competition is expected to feature intense competition but still uphold sportsmanship.

The matches will be held in various strategic locations at the State Polytechnic of Malang which have been well prepared and ensure that each participant can compete comfortably. Spectators will also be spoiled with adequate facilities, including a large parking area at each location and easy access to the match location.

In addition, this event also held a Culinary Festival Expo and MSME Bazaar with the theme "Malang Welcomes You". This event invites all MSMEs to participate to introduce regional products such as culinary, merchandise, tourism, souvenirs typical of Malang, and various other creative products. 

Porseni XIV 2024 will be held at various venues, including 18 locations both inside and outside the State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) campus. Inside venues include the Graha Polinema (Grapol) basketball court, the 4th Floor of the JTS Building, and the 6th Floor of the JTS Building.

Gajayana Stadium, the 5th Floor Cinema Room at the Malang Creative Center, the sand volleyball court at the State University of Malang (UM), the Unggul Sports Center, Platinum Arena, the indoor volleyball court at UM, and Kayutangan Heritage will be the other venues outside the university area. 

Porseni XIV 2024 held at the State Polytechnic of Malang is expected to provide an opportunity for students to interact and exchange experiences with students from other polytechnics. This event is a platform for students to build networks and strengthen brotherhood between polytechnic students throughout Indonesia. It is hoped that this activity can motivate students to continue working and achieving not only in the academic field, but also in the fields of sports and arts. (*)
